White corundum is a high-purity, extremely hard aluminum oxide used as an angular abrasive. It is free of impurities and is suitable for applications where iron oxide is not present, as it is non-ferrous.
White corundum is a highly resistant, angular mineral blasting abrasive, also known as white fused alumina. White corundum differs from brown corundum in its composition. Where brown corundum contains traces of iron oxide, white corundum does not. It is therefore recommended for sandblasting/stripping stainless steel and aluminium parts.
This abrasive for sandblasting, stripping or surface preparation, reputed to be very hard (9 on the Mohs scale), can be blasted a large number of times and is widely recommended for use in sandblasting cabinets.
